babyzen yoyo footmuff

Hi, I was hoping some yoyo owners out there might be able to point me in the direction of a footmuff that fits well but costs less than the official one. I persuaded DH to get the buggy but I doubt he'd want me to spend another £85 on the footmuff.

Thanks

I use a Stay Put Blanket - either the proper stay put blankets or a Clair de Lune PushchairSnugg I did have a footmuff on - a custom made one (only because its what I had kicking around) and even though it was fairly thin, I got annoyed with it dangling on the floor whenever I folded the YoYo. I find it easier to throw a blanket on and fasten it each time TBH. I dont use my YoYo for hours at a time though.

Tiggy, does the yoyo still fold into its beautiful smallness with a footmuff on??

Yes it does, no problem. However like I said the lower part of the footmuff always dangled out. I havent tried folding it with the footmuff folded up IYKWIM but I think the knack of folding would cause the footmuff to fly out anyway. It meant I had to lift the YoYo higher to stop the trailing footmuff getting wet. Plus there was an issue with the unfold - I think I had to lift the footmuff up to see the release button (or something like that). Like I said, in the end I removed it and I find the stay put type blankets work better.

Thank you that's really helpful. I'm pleased I asked, £85 would have been an expensive mistake!

Just remember I haven't seen / tried the official footmuff...they may have a natty solution to fold them up. Babyzen are good at natty solutions, so it may be worth asking Whitestep the distributors direct.

Hi all, I'm a proud yoyo owner. We wanted it so bad that we bought it on hols in Italy in September last year & love it. We also bought the original footmuff from Amazon (we got a £20 discount for joining their baby club). It is of a really great quality & I am glad we have it, even though I agree, it is pricey. It took us a while to figure out how to fold the yoyo without the lower part dangling out (which is highly annoying because it gets wet & dirty in the rain), but there is a way to do it. In essence you need to fold the lower part up of the footmuff up onto the seat & then hold it in place while you close the YoYo. You then need to apply a little more pressure for the locking mechanism to work but it gets easier after a while. There is no problem with opening the yoyo as the folded lower part of the footmuff seems to stay in place until the yoyo is open. I hope this makes sense. If I ever get round to video the process & upload it onto YouTube I'll let you know.

There you go :) An expert at folding with a footmuff!

skuby please do the video, I tried to fold it with a footmuff on yesterday and ended up flinging the wretched thing on the floor in a hissy fit! Ended up using an old maxicosi one instead. The proper one just seems enormous (lovely quality I agree) and I couldn't get it to fold at all
