Hi,
Sorry for the (admittedly hugely annoying) caps lock title of this post- but i'm getting a bit desperado here. My DS is 9 months and massive, he's a sturdy boy who weighs 30lbs and is VERY tall for his age. I can't seem to find a pram ANYWHERE that has a deep enough seat to make him comfortable, I have so far bought/been gifted the following prams, the Silver Cross Surf, which he seemed to be 'perched' on if upright as the seat was too shallow, and the new Quinny Moodd, which looks great but has literally the most shallow seat of all time, it's only got a totally, uncomfortable looking vertical upright position and his bum and body is literally too big for the seat, he looks like he's going to slide out of it and doesn't like it at all. The only pram i've got that he likes and seems deep enough seat-wise is the Quinny Zapp, but I want another pram to alternate it with. Need help as cannot seem to find for the life of me on the internet any info or advice on prams with deep, comfy seats that my little boy would be able to have room in and not look like he was about to fall out of. It's stressing me out a lot.
Also would love some extra advice aside from on a good single pram with deep seat, on a double with deep seats as i'm giving birth to second DS in may, so am going to purchase a double pram as well (yes, am a pram addict!), but don't want to make the mistake for getting one with shallow seats again as that would just be a nightmare.
Sorry for the rant! Suggestions would be amazing! xx
I've got a mamas and papas ollie. I could fit my 112cm tall 4 year old in it fairly comfortably (for him anyway, my arms would fall off if I had to push him around.
No idea about doubles though sorry.
Out n About Nipper seats are pretty big and this available in single or double.
Uppa baby vista big bucket seat
Uppa baby vista big bucket seat and the city mini original or gt single or double version
I have 2 very tall dd's and have a Mama and Papa Ultima. I think I could fit DH in it.
My double was a Graco Stadium I think, it has the totally flat back for a newborn, but I pushed a 2 and 3 year old around with no problem. It is heavy when folded but very easy to push.
The phil and teds vibe has a very deep and tall seat with the option of being a tandem. It's a bit of a beast but very sturdy. It also has two height options for the newborn/toddler phase (newborn in main bit in a cocoon and toddler on extra seat on top). My 95 centile 2 year old was comfortable in it when ds2 was born.
I ha\ve a Mamas and Papas Pilco, DS is well buried at the back and it reclines for his naps.
Phil and TEDs - have classic and is lovely deep and long, 4 year old was 'playing' in it yesterday and I noted how comfy he still was in it!
We found the icandy cherry great for dd1 who was always very long & the seat was quite deep. She always looked so comfy in it & napped in it til we kicked her out when dd2 arrived (she was 2.5 then). As you're expecting your second maybe you could look at the icandy apple which converts into a double I think?
Any Mountain Buggy. I have had 8yr olds in mine!
I have a Britax b-agile which is like a baby city mini jogger and my 3.5 year old fits in it comfortably and likely would until she is 4.
Great thanks, to SazzleSazz, I think i'm going to get a Mountain Buggy Duo or Duet, would you recommend it?
To missusmrs what phil and teds are you talking about or all of them? x
To ThatsNotAKnifeThatsASpoon I am also considering an iCandy Peach Blossom double do u know if seats are deep across the board for all iCandy's? x
To MonaLotte is the P&T Vibe heavy? x
To PeanutMD I have heard good things about the Out n' About Nipper, they do a double too do u reckon the seats will be deep on that? x
30lbs at 9 months???
I would suggest you have a look at the Baby Joggers especially the BJCMGT, Elite and Summit or for doubles, the Baby Joggers again, and the Bumbleride Indie, Easywalker Duo etc. TBH my there aren't many pushchairs which my 4 year old hasn't fitted in to date. The Peach has a good sized seat.
If you want to be more precise go to www.bestbuggy.co.uk and at the top click on "Compare Pushchairs" and you will find seat measurements for a lot of the pushchairs listed. Thats probably the best way to find out how deep a seat is TBH.
Sorry, that's not very helpful - I'm just amazed
I'm not 100% sure woolysheep about other icandys tbh but that said the cherry is the smallest & lightest of the range so I would guess the seats are at least as good in the others.
The seats are very deep on the nippers.
I love my vista, I use mine daily for my 2 year old in the rumble seat and main seat has my big 9month old. She weighs approx 24lb and wears 12-18month stuff.
Me too kiriwawa I had to go and do some sums to work it out. Thats more than my 2 and a half year old weighs!
I am amazed too! My DS is off the centiles for his height and near the top for weight. But he is 15 months and 28 lb. How tall are mum and dad?
And there was supposed to be a
at the end there to demonstrate I wasn't being mean at all. Oh bugger - I'll just STFU but hope this thread is helpful
