Baby Jogger Carrycot

I will be 'handing down' my beloved bjcm to my best friend who is expecting a bub in a few months. I never used mine with a carrycot or carseat but she intends to. I've been looking to buy the deluxe carrycot for her which comes with the adapters which have that squarish metal bar included. Will be buying 2nd hand as can only find the 'compact' carrycot in shops. Have got my sights on one local to me (bonus!) and at an asking price of £50 including adapters, I can't go wrong surely..

My bjcm is a 2008/9 model I think..

Just wanted to confirm if my friend will be able to use the maxi cosi cabriofix with the adapters too?

And also, the deluxe is a better buy than the compact right? (I've read that the hood doubles up as a carrying hand like the dreami carrycot I once owned!)

Crikey... Will this model even take a carrycot?! (just read on some forum that the 2010 model doesnt take carrycot .. What hope has my one got?!)

What about a carseat with the adapters?- is it too old for that too???

Yes she will be able to use the adaptors for the cabriofix but TBH the others are far easier to use plus I believe the car seat is lower and I know someone on here splashed out on the standard adaptors and found them to be much easier.
I am not entirely sure that the bracket for the carrycot looks like that.....because those car seat adaptors are the same as the ones that simply plug in, so I am not sure why the other MN bought another set if they were the same.
I think which carrycot you buy is personal choice, but again, the compact carrycot sits lower on the chassis and the MN I was chatting to did feel like her hard carrycot was a bit high. There's some photos of the various carrycots here including those from the MNer. I can't see her bracket clearly enough but it looks similar to the one you linked to. So I am not sure why her car seat adaptors didnt just plug in without the frame....

Thanks a lot for the link- have had a look and also googled about the metal bar type... Turns out the metal bar is used for the recaro / britax? Seats and only the black side bits used for the maxicosi. As for the carrycot.. May not bother with it as I've read a few ppl have opted for the graco soft carrycot at a fraction of the price (mum to be reckons she won't be venturing out too much with bub as it's expected in nov and it'll be quite cold out!) but I've insisted I get her one as babies could benefit from fresh air and I can take it out when I go visit her so she can have a 'break'. She was my saviour when I had my two kids! I think I may give baby jogger a call just to confirm if adapters fit on the prehistoric model that I have..

Yes@ the carrycot looking quite high.. And also, my bjcm is a 3 wheeler and with the number of pavements and dropped kerbs around here it'll be a battle to steer with sommat so high iykwim..
