Which Phil and Teds pushchair?

I am looking at the Phil and Teds Vibe/Sport/Explorer.

This pushchair will be for a newborn and a 19 month old.

Any advice please. TIA :)

The Sport hasn't had any major issues or recalls as far as I'm aware, so that would be my choice if pushed. In reality, I would never buy any P&T but would get something else such as a Britax B-Dual, iCandy Peach Blossom 2 (not 1), Jane Twone or maybe an Oyster Max depending on budget and due date.

Why wouldn't you get a P&T?

For the mostpart, because Out n About (the parent company) seem physically incapable of producing a pushchair without issues. Some are minor, some not so minor. I just wouldn't trust it to be in one piece in a year's time. But also, the system of having the doubles kit on the top with the baby lying flat underneath means that the toddler has to be upright for 6 months and will have to nap like that. Some of them leave the toddler without hoid coverage and the raincover presses on the toddler's head and face. The baby may well be too big for the space at around 4 months so you have to put them in a seat they are too young to sit in, but then at least the toddler gets a lie down! Wink The basket space is close to none in double mode, the seats are too close together (not so much on the Verve or Vibe) and there is no lower hood on some models.
I didn't mean to rant about them Blush but they just aren't well thought out or made and the other ones I suggested are.

:o You're welcome! I'd love all the ones I suggested (apart from the B-Dual which I already have) to be honest, but I really shouldn't spend the best part of £2000 on doubles. Or should I?!Wink

Blame it on being a pramoholic?!? :P

I just want to say I pretty much echo what Hypatia says. I think there are better options on every aspect in other tandems than a Phil&Teds. What Hypatia says I agree with re the toddler on top, the raincover, lack of reclines, lack of leg room, no basket space, the baby underneath etc plus every P&Ts except the Sport (and the Promenade but its still early) has had a big issue or recall. Just because one seat is under the other doesn't mean they are all the same. The B-Dual or example looks similar but has a lot of room between the seats, a good view for the lower child because of ths, two proper lie flat seats, parent facing options, basket space, is shorter than a P&Ts, folds with both seats on and more.thats just one example. By the end of 2012 there should be some great tandem options depending on your requirements including as you say the new Oyster Max, the Jane Twone, the Peach Blossom 2, the TFK Joggster Twist with carrycot seat and buddy seat, the Micralite Twofold and Graco Trekko...and possibly more!
