So, I've seen snippets of info about this and it looks VERY interesting. It ticks all my boxes:

Rear facing
From birth
Air wheels for off road
Narrow
Compact fold
4 wheels

Mmmm... Question is, has anyone heard any rumour re price? Don't want to get excited if its way above my budget.

AnEcumenicalMatter Thu 02-Feb-12 19:17:13

I'm interested in this too and also the release date (as well as trying to find a stockist in NI).

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 19:19:37

Spring is the only date I can find - that might be just the date in Europe tho?

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 19:27:59

Tell me about it, I'm desperate to get my hands on one. On paper, this is the most perfect pushchair ever!

It had been said that it would be released in the first quarter of the year, but I think it'll be very late March, early April. My very unscientific guess is a price of £450.

AnEcumenicalMatter Thu 02-Feb-12 19:29:48

Spring is about as specific as I can find too.

And, to add to the minefield that has become choosing a pushchair, even if the June does tick all my boxes, I'm not sure whether to wait for the new Babyjogger Versa which is also due out later in the year...I'm actually starting to lose sleep over this!!

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 19:32:03

Babyjogger versa has plastic wheels, no? That makes the June a beter option for me, anyhow...

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 19:36:32

The Versa has little hard wheels though. You'd have to buy GT wheels and then you're looking at a good £600. And I think I heard September for the Versa, so probably November! grin But the Versa GT (as I've decided to call it) looks a bit better than the June I think. The timescale and price make me want the June.

AnEcumenicalMatter Thu 02-Feb-12 19:46:59

Yes, I'd need the GT wheels.

Baby is due in June and I can borrow a pram to get me started (Jane Nomad)...just have to decide to whether to go for the June or wait to see if the Versa (GT) is better.

I'm pretty resigned to spending about £600 anyway and if that's the only pushchair I need to buy then I think the price is reasonable. And DP will think it's a steal as the first pram I priced was an iCandy at £965!!

Question is...can I live with the borrowed pram for up to 6 months? I'm going to end up with the June, aren't I? grin

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 19:53:22

Ohh, I see - I didn't realise you could put air wheels on the versa. What's the RRP for the versa with the normal wheels?

Hypatia interesting you though it looked better - why? I thought the June looked better!

Aargh, all this would be a NON ISSUE of more manufacturers just offered 4 interchangable wheels. I have a Bee, but the wheels are CRAP after 2 years hard use with buggy board attached, and obviously it's rubbish offroad. If only you could have a set of airfilled tyres to fit, it would make so many more pushchairs attractive to me. Why does even an expensive pram like the bee have useless little hard wheels?!?!?

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 19:55:12

You could always get both! grin I suppose it's not too bad a price, but I just couldn't quite justify that. I haven't looked at the price of footmuffs etc. but I think Easywalker and Baby Jogger are similar prices. I hope the June isn't toi expensive. sad

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 19:56:21

AnEc, you should get the June, because waiting for the Versa could be AGES. And it's not just the release date - it's waiting a month or two for all the reviews to get online. So you could be talking right at the end of 2012 by that pont..

I'm due August, so hopefully the June will have been out a few months and well reviewed by then. Might even be able to get a 2nd hand one if I'm really lucky... might just go new though, as this will be my last baby and I want to enjoy a nice new pushchair!

Tiggywunkle Thu 02-Feb-12 20:02:05

The June is more likely to be May/June according to the man in the know here in the UK.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 20:08:25

I think the Versa GT looks better because of the simple one hand fold, the bigger hood, bigger seat and I think the build looks a bit sturdier although that may mean heavier too.

I completely agree about annoying stupid wheels. At the moment, even if I had endless money, there is no pushchair that covers all bases. Now the June will be the only one, unless BJ do a Versa GT as standard. Look under reviews and information here for photos of a Versa GT. I don't know why it's so hard to just make a pushchair that does it all. If these two can do it, why not everone else?!

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 20:09:08

Tiggy, don't say that to me! sad

Tiggywunkle Thu 02-Feb-12 20:21:49

I did joke that Kooltrade need to ship over a container of GT wheels. Apparently they would cost £130 per set!

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Thu 02-Feb-12 20:25:06

Or stop being ridiculous, put them on the Versa and charge £100 more for it.

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 20:31:50

The bigger hood is a selling point for the versa for me. But the one handed fold is no issue, and unless the june seat is tiny I won't have a problem there either (we've been fine with the bee seat, which I know lots of people find on the small side). Also, how strange that BJ are puting plastic wheels as standard on the Versa, when they could save their R&D budget with better airfilled wheels they already have!

how annoying about the June being may/june - grrr. Hae they found a UK distributor?

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 20:33:06

Putting them on the versa as standard sounds like it would take it up to £££.
Surely tyres can't cost THAT much?!?

AnEcumenicalMatter Thu 02-Feb-12 20:36:34

I'd happily pay £100 for the GT tyres as standard (or as an optional extra) on the Versa...especially if it means I only need one pushchair instead of 2.

Tiggywunkle Thu 02-Feb-12 20:43:27

I believe Easywalker are shipping direct for the time being but there may be one in the future. They were advertising for an account manager in the UK not long ago to act as go between meanwhile.

All I hope is that Baby Jogger haven't been smart and have changed the pins round so that the Versa no longer will take the GT wheels. After all the photos are prototypes and they have reversed the pins so that GT wheels can't go on a standard City Mini.

Abirdinthehand Thu 02-Feb-12 20:51:08

WHY would they DO that? WHY??? Do they hope we'll go out and buy a GT AND a Versa if we can't swap the wheels?

See, there are plenty pf pushchairs on the market that would suit my needs, if they came wth airwheels. If just ONE MANUFACTURER had the brains to offer sets of 4 airwheels interchangable with the plastic ones, I'd buy their brand like a shot. Obviously bugaboo will give you airwheels for the front of the Cam (but I can't afford one) and the Oyster has optional airwheels for the back (but the front ones would still be irritating little swivelly ones like the bee's.) Honestly, I can't believe no one has though of it! It can't cost that much - after all, you can get cheap children's bikes with perfectly good wheels, surely they can manufacture wheels that would be affordable!

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Fri 03-Feb-12 12:40:43

Tiggy, stop giving BJ ideas! wink I bet they'll bring out a Versa GT in a couple of years, just in time for me to not need a pushchair. sad I wouldn't buy both a Versa and a GT, I'd just get a June and have everything! Word is spreading fast of the June and I think BJ need to be competing with them in order to not lose customers over to Easywalker. I hope the June's release will spur other companies into action too.

Abird, have you looked at the Mutsy 4 Rider (not Light)? It has 4 air tyres, the seat faces both ways, the handle is massively adjustable and you can buy a massive bag to attach to the back of the seat. But it's not particularly compact folded-not huge tough-and is 63cm wide. I've got a gecko with snow wheels, but I've never used the snow wheels becasue it's actually surprisingly good off road. I will use the snow wheels if it snows or if I was going seriously off road or over an extremely muddy field or something.

HypatiaTheProcrastinator Fri 03-Feb-12 13:54:18

Look at this!! Four air tyres and it's a tandem. It sounds as though it can't be a single though. And I want to know why there's no rear hood. But it looks great otherwise. grin

Tiggywunkle Fri 03-Feb-12 13:57:48

I know, I know!! I am sooooooooo excited. It looks awesome!!!
I haven't been this excited for a year!!!
