Okay, despite the clear lack of cakes on the site
, we are considering using this company. A MNetter mentioned them on another thread about German kitchens, and I've spoken to someone from the company over the phone now. I was curious which supplier they used, as the site just keeps saying "German kitchen", but have found out they use Nobilia, which I believe is a decent company.
Anyway. Does anyone have experience using this company? I'm in the east midlands, so my options for German kitchens aren't as good as they seem to be in other parts of the country..
Thanks in advance
eek okay have found some reviews for Nobilia and get the impression they're built for the German version of B&Q- so might look the part but probably won't be worth the money the company might want for them (not that I know what they want, as I don't see prices on the site)
So, my question still stands, but I'm still keeping my options open.
I am looking at PriceMyKitchen who do Schueller kitchens which are German and supposedly good value.
That doesn't answer your question. I think Nobilia kitchens are sold in Homebase.
Oh do Nobilia manufacture that Odina range Homebase has? That is interesting.
I'm looking at PriceMyKitchen as well. I liked the look of Kuchenworld because they offer to send someone around to help plan- I think I'm struggling with knowing what will work best in our space. I think I might end up paying to get the John Lewis designer to come out and help, just for the general idea.
pricemykitchen supplied our kitchen. I've recommended them loads of times on the property board as I found the service very responsive indeed, and if you can get to the showroom the guy was incredibly helpful in terms of going through my plan and suggesting improvements.
I did have to keep on top of the details as our build and what I wanted ended up being so complicated that we went through about 10 iterations, and we both ended up a bit confused about what was what! You also take responsibility for the measurements - I was lucky as I'd measured before the plasterboard went up and ended up with 5mm to spare!!!
The schuller kitchen itself is fantastic - brilliant quality and excellent price.
The odina range in Homebase seemed crazily overpriced imo. I went in after my kitchen had been installed and was smugly delighted and how little I'd paid by comparison
That's great to hear libelulle. If the Odina range is Nobilia or along those lines, and you paid less to get a Schuller kitchen, you did well indeed.
Their showrooms are down south, as far as I understand, so I don't think we have a hope of actually visiting them.
I'm going to look at the Schuller range. I don't suppose you looked at Alno at JL while you were shopping? Would love a general idea of the difference in price..
I was just going by the in-store price tickets, none of the 50% off deals around right now, but the full price for a 'standard' 11 unit ?foil-wrapped kitchen by odina seems to be about 9k, and that seems to be for pretty basic cupboards.
We paid 7k or thereabouts (think final quote was nearer 8 but included various appliances) for 16 lacquered Schuller units including oodles of drawers/pan drawers, fancy corner unit with carousel, a full-height pull-out unit, a full-height unit with internal drawers, fancy bin system etc etc. It wasn't the cheapest Schuller option by a long shot either as I was too taken with the lovely matt lacquered doors
It did take an awful lot of engagement to get the kitchen I wanted - many many many evenings poring over the Schuller product lists - and as I say the measurements were all my responsibility. There were snags I picked up on (a couple of wrong codes in final order for eg) but they were all dealt with v. professionally.
I seem to remember that the initial ball-park quote on the pricemykitchen website was pretty close to what we ended up paying, if that helps.
Afraid I didn't go near John Lewis because the prices looked prohibitive.
I got a quote and design from pricemykitchen and it seems really reasonable - especially seeing as we need lots of units.
