Hi
I understand that the term after the 3rd birthday a child is entitled to 15hrs of funding. I have heard that there may be some changes coming into effect from April 2012 and wondered if anyone knew anything about this or where I could find out more. I am specifically interested with regard to private nurseries. My daughter currently attends 2.5 days so I am trying to plan what this might mean come September (when her free entitelment starts).
many thanks

This is from my local authority website
"The free early years entitlement is free part time childcare and early education for all children from the term after their third birthday, it pays for 570 hours per year that is equivalent to 15 hours a week for 38 weeks of the year.
What am I entitled to?
Upto 15 hours a week
For up to 38 weeks a year over three terms
In arrangement with your provider, up to 10 hours can be claimed in one day and up to 12 and a half hours over 2 days
Your child may attend all 15 hours at one registered early years establishment or you can divide the hours between a maximum of two providers.
You are not entitled to claim the Free Early Years Entitlement Funding if your child attends for 15 hours a week at a local authority nursery school or nursery class"
Your best bet is to talk to the nursery as they will haev their own way of dealing with it. Some are more flexible than others.
