I'm trying to think of something the children can do to celebrate the Jubilee - we could apply for some money from our Parish Council but I can't think of anything exciting - when I was at school we all got mugs for the Silver Jubilee but I don't think that's very revelant these days!

Do you mean like a souvenir or an event? Our preschool had a 'street party' for the royal wedding, they all wore red white and blue, then made hats and little sandwiches etc.. Then they were given a little wedding memento with a sticker with the date etc on (which was a little bit twee but a nice thought).

At my ds school they are having a street party in the playground with lunch and bunting in the trees etc. They all have to design and make ( yes a pain but they have given lots of notice)a hat,the best hat as judged by the lunchtime staff will get a small prize.
They are also having games with a jubilee theme ,not sure what they will be
