and if so when did it begin? ive been cleaning no stop for the last couiple of weeks, im a tidy sort of person anyway, but have overwelming urges to get rid of anything unecessary and to do things like clean the skirting boards. my friend said it must be nesting...but i didnt 'nest' with Ds.
plus im only 29 weeks.
am however stresing that things wont be all prepared before LOs arrival.

i was totally stressing when i was in my 20's weeks as we had so much to do with the house/baby's room i was paranoid it wouldnt get done. around 36 weeks i started cleaning silly things, like vacuuming the walls, wiping the skirting boards, just seeing any tiny spec of dust. im 38+4 and am getting too tired to do much, though washing is still an obsession and just trying to make sure the house is really tidy (so hard when my 20month DD is running around creating a trail of chaos behind me!). I get annoyed because there are still things on my list for DH and he is really good and does most of them but i want them ALL DONE NOW! so when he goes to work i end up doing them, things like rearranging bedroom furniture, painting the ceiling in the lounge... etc. Im thinking tomorrow of going to B+Q and getting more stones for our driveway and maybe having a go at doing it myself...

I tend to 'nest' in short bursts from about 14 weeks onwards. Have done with all 3.

I never nested at all but DP did! He laid a new patio, cleaned the carpets and painted several rooms...all whilst I laid on the sofa watching Wimbledon and MNing!

I was 40 + 2 and Dh came home to me trapped upside down in the chest freezer - with bump out of it and the rest of me in it doing a hand stand. I had been bottoming it out (and it so didn't need it). The frozen food was on the side defrosting and i was laughing so much i went into labour the next day....

At 36 weeks with DD I decided that our bedroom needed a fresh coat of paint.
DH was at work and had no idea till he get home that evening but I had painted 3 whole walls...only stopping because i needed him to move the large wardrobe to paint behind.

He moved the wardrobe but it broke! I hadnt liked the house move a few months previously anyway and gave way. We ended up buying all new bedroom furniture from Ikea and I was putting together various flatpack furniture at 38 weeks!

This time ive just finished painting the nursery at 28 weeks.
DH has threaten to hide the paintbrushes from now on Although i doubt ill have time to do anything major with an 18mth old in tow!

I am 20 weeks and also found myself washing skirting boards, hoovering doors etc - this NEVER normlly happens! I do wonder if this is how 'normal' people keep their homes clean!

It does remind me of my dog who will scuffle her blankets (and my duvet) into a lovely little nest for herself!
