2 day headache and right shoulder pain at 31 weeks

I've had a bad headache since yesterday morning. It feels like it is somehow behind my right eye. I thought the stress of this headache was causing my right shoulder and the same side of my jaw to ache, and also causing nausea, but just made the mistake of googling these symptoms and came up with info about pre-eclampsia.

This was not mentioned when I called my midwifery team for advice so I wonder am I being a bit neurotic and scaring myself with my googling? Two 500g paracetamol make the headache almost go away - the midwife I spoke to earlier said that if the paracetamol did not work I should come in but it did. I've also had a cold the past week so it might just be sinus pain. My last antenatal appointment was Wednesday and there was no cause for concern. The shoulder pain really eases off when my DH rubs it - does this mean it can't be referral pain? Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi Upwind,

It doesn't sound like anything too much to worry about, but why don't you get your blood pressure checked just to put your mind at rest, most pharmacies will do it for you.

Stay away from google though, you will scare yourself silly!

Thanks Katyjo, I'll do that today! Headache not completely gone but bearable today without any paracetamol and shoulder and jaw pain have faded - am sure that was just stress from the headache.

Glad you're feeling better, take it easy. Make sure you keep your midwife informed. xx

Thanks again! It is much better now so I guess it was sinus related
