c-section and uv gel nails - do I need them taken off for the big day?

Just wondering - I have uv gel nails (so not false ones) and the nail lady suggested the other day that they might need to come off for the c-section. I had an emergency c-section last time and didn't have them then so didn't apply. I have clear gel applied over the top of my usual nail and don't wear coloured nail varnish so I wonder whether, as they can see the colour of my nail beds, it might apply.
Any suggestions welcomed ! I can of course ask the hospital but will need to book my nail appointment to get them off if I need it before my pre-op which is the week before.
Thanks !

Hmm i would say yes on the basis you have to take nail varnish off. But, as you say they're clear and i always thought the nail varnish thing was because they can't see the colour. So, i don't know. That was a helpful post wasn't it! Could you call mw at hosp and see if they know?

It's to do with being able to see the oxygen in your nail beds apparently but as you're not out completely and as you can see them I wonder whether I would have to....
