Hi there,

I feel stupid for asking but, here goes...
For the past three years I have had the implant in my arm. It officially 'expired' on the 17th November. Leading up to this date, my DP and I had unprotected sex and had one 'incident' since its expiry. I'm wondering if there is a tiny chance of me being preggers.
AF was all over the place with the implant, so i have nothing to go on there. I had stretchy type pains which felt like they were in my uterus and I've had a weird feeling stomach over the past couple of days - like bubbles popping?? I do feel like im being stupid - I have bought an hpt, but was going to wait a week or two b4 testing.

Should I not bother?? Please be honest but gentle if im being an idiot

thanks

Well my cousin's wife got pg in similar circumstances, so it is possible.

TBH - I think it's unlikely. Not impossible but unlikely. I don't think that the stretching pains and bubbles in stomach feeling would happen so early on in a pregnancy. I'ld only bother doing a test after however many weeks they reckon it should take for you to get your period back from stopping the implant.

I felt stretching/cramping pains in my uterus the first day of my missed period. It is quite common to get such pains in the early stages of pregnancy.

TotalChaos · 26/11/2008 17:48

I didn't know that, I didn't have those pains till 8/9 weeks at least.

the bubbling feeling was one of my first symptoms would have been 3 weeks pregnant

Bubbling sensations? Haven't heard of that one! What's happening when you feel bubbles in your tummy then?

BabyBaby123 · 27/11/2008 14:21

sounds to me like you have been stressed and this has caused a blip in your normal cycle. It's happened to me in the past when I've been stressed out. Your fertility can take a long time to come back after an implant for 3 years - the streching you are feeling is probably your uterus getting to used to not having the extra hormones from the implant.

Just to say thanks for all your replies. I still feel daft for thinkin that I meight be preggers, but I can live in hope.

I'm not stressed at all, having been thinking about getting pregnant for real yet. So stress isnt a factor in this.

I didnt feel any pains/stretching with DS1, so it may well be the hormones.

Thanks anyway
