Anyone else???
I just want to lick a carpet Grin

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Craving non-foods could be a sign of a condition called pica, mention it to your midwife as you may be anaemic. How far along are you?

DrCoconut · 02/06/2021 19:21

I craved sand. It's a well known sign of iron deficiency as pp said.

coffeeandtoffee1 · 02/06/2021 19:27

I am 26 weeks now, I started taking some iron vitamins a couple of weeks ago so hopefully that gives me a boost.
I have a blood test booked in soon as I suffered with this last time

@coffeeandtoffee1 I feel the same! I want to scratch them with my nails haha the joys..

eandz13 · 02/06/2021 19:41

I craved dry wall and nail polish remover around the 28 week mark of each pregnancy (3), only had iron deficiency in 1. Drove me mental!!

Jubilate · 02/06/2021 19:43

Firelighters, plastic sponges, coal.

I had a friend who ate newspaper.

Diddumz · 02/06/2021 19:46

Chewing toothbrushes. It was such a powerful craving that I thought it would last after the baby was born but, of course, it didn't.

ShadowKitty · 02/06/2021 19:50

@Jubilate misread your post and thought you'd been craving Firefighters 😆

coffeeandtoffee1 · 02/06/2021 20:21

Firefighters lol!!

Ooo toothbrushes sound appealing too!

I used to lick and chew sponges in both my pregnancies, eat the bubbles in the bath and I was obsessed with the smell of cleaning products (I didn't consume these Grin). I would stand for ages in the cleaning aisles just looking at all the productsConfused

bookish83 · 02/06/2021 20:29

I craved the smell of a certain washing powder. I didn't even use it but use to sit smelling clothes that had been washed in it. Oh I LOVED it!

woowoopigeon · 02/06/2021 20:32

I used to wet a sponge in the shower and then suck it. It was awful, I carried sponges and water bottles in my bag so I could do it on the go

WoMandalorian · 02/06/2021 20:41

Thought you were using the euphemism when I first read the title 🙈😂

Branleuse · 02/06/2021 21:39

I used to eat sponges. Delicious

JorisBonson · 02/06/2021 21:41

My mum sniffed Jif lemon around the clock when she was pregnant with DB 🤣

Mseddy · 02/06/2021 21:54

I shouldn't have read this thread. 26 weeks and now all I can think about is chewing a damp sponge!!!!!!

Worriesome · 02/06/2021 22:43

Pregnancy really is a mysterious illness

Cleverpolly3 · 02/06/2021 22:45

It was lemon fairy liquid all three times for me. I was literally snorting it.

polkadotpixie · 03/06/2021 10:31

I craved tyres when I was pregnant with DS. I worked next to a tyre place at the time and it took all my willpower not to go in and ask if I could lick them!
