Painful boobs - will a sleep bra help?

My boobs are killing me. It's worse at night when I'm not wearing a bra. I'm thinking of buying a sleep bra - will it help? Does anyone have any recommendations? I have big boobs (34FF and growing!) and obviously need a bra that fits comfortably...

Really ugly but really comfy
Try Anita - rosa faia bras
You may struggle to find your size in a supportive soft cup bra on the high st.

SewSlapdash · 17/07/2016 08:28

I used just a crop top type thing from a Sainsbury's.

I love Genie bras.

Saw them on shopping telly and got totally sucked in. They are fab!

Buy a size larger than you normally would (they are sized like clothes),
So for example I have E cups and am usually a size 10-12, so I bought a 12.

They are soft, stretchy and comfy but give enough support to be comfortable while you sleep.

Thanks dung, are they maternity bras or just regular ones?

My favourite brand is Freya and I can get them on the high street (Bravissimo and John Lewis) although I sometimes order online and collect in store. Freya do nursing bras but I'm a long way off needing those (only 7 weeks pregnant!) I just want a soft crop-top type bra for sleeping in.

I'm a 35F and 8 weeks today and have just bought some sleep bras! I just got cheap ones from New look and they've made a difference already, although if the pregnancy progresses I'll invest in some more expensive ones.

FlipperSkipper · 17/07/2016 08:45

Obviously that's 34F!

suspiciousofgoldfish · 17/07/2016 10:24

Yep have a look online namechange,
They're not wired, just supportive crop top things.
I also wear them over bras if I'm running (happens about once a year) to stop me getting black eyes.

NameChange30 · 17/07/2016 10:28

Thanks flipper and everyone else. I've ordered a couple of soft crop top type bras, no idea if they will fit but if not I will just send them back. If I have time meanwhile I'll see if I can get a few cheap ones from a supermarket or Primark / H&M / New Look etc.

I'm living in my sports bra (it's amazing) xx

KayTee87 · 17/07/2016 16:28

Asda do soft bras that I find fine. I was a 32G pre pregnancy now 34GG at 39+ weeks. They come in small, medium, large and extra large. They're really stretchy I find medium & large ok and enough support for around the house and lazing about.

wm3010 · 17/07/2016 19:23

Bravado do nice crop tops for bigger sizes, they are my favourite as all cotton which I think is nicer for sleeping. Not cheap but wash really well.

NameChange30 · 17/07/2016 21:20

wm3010 Those bras looks fantastic, thank you! If only their online shop was working properly I would order one right now! I will be obsessively checking until it's working again!

Namechange if you google them they also come up at one of the specialist nursing bra sites, I'm at work just now so can't check which one (don't want to be looking for bras at my desk!) but I had a look the other day as I want to get a couple more now I am pg again so I don't have to wash them quite so often! I found them really handy for the first few days of breastfeeding too as again they are cotton (post partum hormones made me feel really sweaty) and also they stretch to accommodate milk coming in etc. Worth the investment I think!

Farfromtheusual · 21/07/2016 16:05

I second the stretchy asda bras... Only about 6 quid aswell.

I haven't found anything suitable and I'm pissed off.

Bravado only do a few styles in my size and the one I want isn't available in the UK (from them or any other stockists). They won't send it to me from the USA.

The bras I ordered online (from John Lewis) don't fit and/or aren't comfortable.

When I finally made it to the shops, I went to New Look, Debehams, H&M and Mothercare. Mothercare was the only shop with anything remotely suitable but it wasn't a comfy fit either.

Aaaaarrrrrrgggghhhhhhh

Hotmilk. Bloody brilliant. I had terrible boob pain and these fixed it.
I got mine from here: www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/search.asp?types2=Nursing+Bras&bratext=Nursing+Bras&gclid=CJywxNOYlM4CFej0cgodJHUKjg

Great little shop. :)
