I'm in desperate need to buy new bras but no where (m&s, debenhams, mothercare) seems to have my size (36H) in non wired or if they do they offer no support. Plus I'm only in my first trimester and unfortunatey I'm sure they are still growing which means I'm going to need a bigger cup size. So does anyone know where else I can by from after a H cup because most high street stores stop at H! Thanks in advance for any help

bravissimo is great.

sanityisamyth · 01/09/2013 21:02

Bravissimo is definitely the way forward.

lucywiltshire · 01/09/2013 21:03

I have huge boobs too and have used Bravado seamless bras for each of my three pregnancies and still wearing one now I'm breastfeeding. They come in small, medium, large and extra large. To get the right cup size I wore XL when pregnant and am now in L although the back is a bit big. Super comfy!

Ostrich78 · 01/09/2013 21:08

Hi, Rigby and Peller cater for massive boobs. I have an underwired one as I need the support, I'm currently 25 weeks and wearing a 34I. They are bloody huge!!

Littleroobe · 01/09/2013 21:08

Thanks ladies I will have to try and get there.( Cant order online cause im also a wierd fit so want to try as many as possible!) Nearest one is an hour away but at least it's a day out :0)

Definitely Bravissimo, I went up to a 36JJ when breast feeding (usually a 32FF) and they were the only place that catered for me. God luck

Cannotbelieveit · 01/09/2013 21:16

Another vote for bravissimo! Worth travelling to one.

SmallBee · 01/09/2013 21:17

Was going to say try Emma Jane-you can get some nursing bras with special underwire but I ordered mine online & not sure whether shops carry them. Worth looking out for if you see them though.

PacificDogwood · 01/09/2013 21:21

I had Bravado maternity and nursing bras (36H at the time).

I did order them online in a variety of sizes and sent the ones that did not fit back.

And yes, Bravissimo are fab but I only found them after I was done with all the pregnancy/BFing lark Grin

Amplebosom.com

Only way I can get bras!!!

Truffkin · 01/09/2013 21:40

Good advice already but just wanted to chip in re: the underwiring. If you are looking for non wired because you think you have to when pregnant, so long as a bra is well fitted then underwiring is fine. I went ip to a J cup at my biggest when feeding and am only down to HH now after not bfing for 6 months! Am pregnant again so I dread to think where I will end up Smile I wore Emma-Jane flexible underwired nursing bras, which were a God send as mine looked atrocious in soft cups and I may have hibernated for the entire time I breastfed without that discovery!

BonaDea · 01/09/2013 21:43

The bravado bras are very very comfy and I wore them throughout and am still wearing for bf'ing. But they are a bit shapeless and I do suffer from 'mono boob' so have some bravissimo proper nursing bras too.

Anothermrssmith · 01/09/2013 22:25

Another bravissimo fan here, though glad I clicked on this because I'm already up to a k cup from hh at 21 weeks so rapidly running out of options from bravissimo! Will need to check out a few of the other places you ladies have suggested

TobyLerone · 01/09/2013 22:41

I was going to say what Truffkin said.

You can wear underwired as long as they fit properly. I'm a 34F and I've never found a non-wired bra which didn't gather my boobs together in some kind of homogeneous lump in the centre of my chest, giving me a cleavage starting at my chin.

paperclipsarebetterthanstaples · 01/09/2013 22:43

I don't suppose you're up north? We have Sadie the Bra Lady in the north east - they're fantastic!

agendabender · 01/09/2013 22:52

I wore wires all through pregnancy, bout couldn't get the fit right when breastfeeding so had to switch to non-wired. 32J here. If you can possibly make wires work then do, non-wired just doesn't seem to do anything for busty ladies. I feel like I have a boob under each armpit!

Littleroobe · 01/09/2013 23:05

paperclips unfortunately not Sad

Truffkin Toby agenda Thank you, everyone keeps saying non wired so thanks for reassurance that it is ok not to! I felt like my boobs were at my knees with the ones I tried! Just didn't feel supported at all!

Everyone else thanks for suggestions and ideas of places to go/makes to look at. I will deffinately be trying Bravissimo when I can get there.

Bravissimo are very highly regarded on the bra threads on here, IIRC. Mothercare/M&S/Debenhams not so much.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 01/09/2013 23:30

Sod that! NOTHING will stop me wearing wires! I like my breasts above my waist! Confused

AnythingNotEverything · 01/09/2013 23:35

YY to wearing well fitted underwired bras. I've gone from 32g to 34j in 33 weeks, and gearing up for the joys of nursing bra fittings soon

Bravissimo have been fabulous. I had fittings at 8 and 27 ish weeks, and will got back at 37/38.

I sleep in a bravado nursing bra and its great, but I wish they did better back/cup ratios. I wouldn't like to leave the house in mine.

midori1999 · 02/09/2013 00:26

Bravissimo are excellent! I'm a 34HH/36H and Bravissimo are the first place I have been to where I can actually buy bras that are comfortable all day and I'm not desperate to get off. Wired ones too. They also do great nursing bras if you're planning on breastfeeding.

GreatJoanUmber · 02/09/2013 09:52

Bravissimo are great! I was up to a K cup last time and they did have some that weren't horrendously frumpy.
But also, for good basics, look at the NCT shop (website). I got some plain black nursing bras there, extremely comfortable, and also got them quite cheaply in the sale!

maggiethemagpie · 02/09/2013 18:14

Another bravado fan here. The comfiest bra ever!

meditrina · 02/09/2013 18:21

As you asked about where "ladies" get their bras, you'd be best off with Rigby and Peller.

They supply HMQ, and you won't get more ladylike than that.

Carole803 · 02/09/2013 20:25

Figleaves. I have two with flexi wires and two with no wires and two big boobs (36G) that make my pre pregnancy boobs look almost tiny!

I have always had wires, but started to feel really uncomfortable. I am happy in my new bras and don't have searing pain in my boobs when I take my bra off at night!
