Keeping little brother out of the way while PT!

I'm planning to start PT with DS1 (2.9yrs) this weekend but I don't know how to keep his little brother (16mths) out of the way while I encourage him to use it .

All of my friends who have recently PT their toddlers have either only had one child or their sibling has been an immobile baby. DS2 is an active, curious and determined toddler and is almost as interested in the potty as his brother - I can see him trying to push DS1 off it, fight him for it or generally distract him!

Any experience/tips/tell me not to worry!

buy two potties and encourage both of them at same time

he'll only be interested if its not for him

and you might end up with both of them sorted you never know

Thanks activate - I did consider that but wasn't sure whether the idea of trying to PT them both at the same time would be a nightmare! I was worried that I'd be so busy trying to stop DS2 tipping his on his head that DS1 would get forgotten!

Buy 2 potties but keep DS2s nappy on and just let him sit on it clothed.

Thanks spider, will try that - seems like such an obvious answer but I know DS2 and not sure he's going to be so easy to distract!

god no you focus on older one and let younger one copy if he wants to

just have it there in case he wants to

also potties are dead cheap - have one for each floor of the house

you can move to a loo really quickly - don't forget to teach bum wiping once at loo stage

Can't help with the sibling thing Knitting, but don't let yourself get stressed about potty training. One, I think they pick up on the stress and two, it might not be as bad as you think it's going to be!
