Its strange people keep telling me 'she was just a cat' but she was so much more. I'm glad to hear it will get easier and sorry for your losses too. My DH is going to sort out her litter tray etc today(cant bring myself to do it), she became ill very quickly so all been quite a shock.
Someone on hhere recommended a pet bereavement site. Just because you have lost an animal doesn't mean you won't feel grief. There is a section on helping children cope with the loss of a pet. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the site.
so sorry to read about your cat of course it is ok to feel so sad; pets are part of the family and you do need to grieve for them. have a (((hug))) and remember your cat as it was before it became ill. you can also be comforted by knowing you did right by allowing the vet to end its suffering at the right time.
My lovely cat who was 12 and had been ill for about 4 weeks had to be put to sleep yesterday. It was the hardest thing I have ever done and I cant stop crying. I feel so guilty and sick, I know in my heart of hearts I did the right thing she was so poorly and went so quickly, but I miss her so much, DC are upset too. Is this normal to feel this upset?
