HAMSTER ADVICE NEEDED

Hi we have a hamster (lady poops a lot) who is about two now, the last few weeks she has been drinking and weeing a lot, kidneys gone but the chap at the local pet store (who is very knowledgeable) said as long as she was eating and drinking not to worry.

Now she has stopped eating and drinking, she is panting and very sleepy, I know the end is near but I can not bare to think of her suffering (I sat up all night holding our last Hamster when she was dying).

Should I take her to the vet and have her "put to sleep" of let nurture take its course?
Any advice on what would be kinder appreciated

Hiya

I have gone through this quite a few times now, two hamsters I have had put to sleep and the other two went quietly, it got to the stage with my two that I knew it was time, I couldn't bear to think of them not eating/drinking and sure they were not comfortable so took the decision to do so, but it is ultimately your choice, you know your hamster better than anyone and if you think they are suffering then maybe consider calling the vets.

Sending you best wishes!

Thank you Sparkly, sadly Lady poops a lot died last night while DS2 was holding her sad we have had a funeral for her and both DSs (11 and 15) have been very tearful.

I do not think she was suffering, and she was well over 2 years old
