I really should know the answer to this and I am blaming my sleep deprived state as an excuse but, my ds has a colourful plastic walker (as in one that you hold on to whilst you walk as opposed to the other kind) that plays music and says different things depending on which button you press. My problem is this, when you press the lion button, it says
"I'm the lion, please go slow."
Surely, this should be "please go slowly." as it should be an adverb and not an adjective.
Petty and pedantic, yes, very, but please back me up (or make me feel stupid!).

I agree with you.
There is a usage in industrial relations, when one would say workers are on a go slow, but that is specific jargon which doesn't seem applicable for a talking lion.

Thank you Edith, I thought it was wrong and it had been annoying me. Now, is it too mean to remove the batteries in the name of preserving the English language?
ItsOk - my DSs didn't know that quite of their toys could take batteries, until they went to friends and heard them! Then there was a bit of a battle, but I just said that they could make their own noises and they didn't need batteries!
It worked! They're now 6 and 4 and don't seem to have been too badly affected by low battery use

It's ok. That's terrible. How could a toy manufacturer get it so wrong?

I always baulk at "Call direct on... ". But everyone else seems to think it's ok.
