hi
I am trying to organise my daughters 4th birthday party and am looking to book a childrens entertainer. I have hired a hall for 2 hours 11 - 1.

I have found a couple of the internet, Mr marvel and squirty wirty, but wondered if anyone had seen them in action and could give me an idea of what they do etc!!

Many Thanks

Mr Marvel did my son's 5th bday party and he was really good. Really good raport with the kids and a nice mixture of magic and party games.

There are several mr Marvels - the original one does all the bookings and also some parties, but he also arranges other Mr Marvels IYSWIM. We had the original one!

Mr marvel (there are more than one in the company I believe) is very good, lots of magic tricks, gets the kids laughing at silly jokes. He has a bunny I think, although he doesn't pull it out of a hat! To be honest I can't remember that well, but I do remember the kids really enjoyed it, and the chap was very professional, knew just what he was doing. Would definitely recommend

I've been to a squirty wirty party and she was brilliant! It was for a third birthday party but I think would be even better for age four. Really engaged with children, they all loved it. Magic tricks, bunny in hat, lots of silly and interactive stuff. She entertained before the meal, then got them all organised to sit down. My friend got those little individual boxes and filled them with few picnic items each for the children - great, no waste, and exactly the right food. Then squirty wirty got kids going again and did another 45 mins entertainment after the food, handed out party bags (think it was lucky dip provided by her) and sent them all on their way, superbly organised and parents hardly had to do a thing!

I have been to a party with Andy Clockwise and he is great, he is herts based, but goes everywhere.

Mr Marvel is a company which seems to have an endless number of entertainers, so you can't be 100% sure who you will get. It's also quite a pricey option (£185) and very prescriptive (you have to have a 2hr party or at least pay for 2hrs, with prescribed time slots plus they now insist on ending with a disco which is unecessary for little ones). Mr Magic is great if you're relatively near to London - see www.ianmanly.co.uk. He's fantastic with the kids, has them laughing non stop as well as enjoying the magic.
