Anyone else's toddler sleep 13 hours at night and have a 2 hour day nap? Is this too much? I know I shouldn't complain, am just checking others have the same sleep pattern....

My dd will be 18 months old next week and she sleeps 12 hours at night and has a decent nap most days, normally between 1 and 3 hours depending on what kind of morning we have had.

One of mine did this.Had to wake them in the morning at around 8.30 for school run and their nap was a good 3 hours plus. Was lovely!

My DS is 19 months old and sleeps 12/13 hours a night 7-7:30/8 and 2 hrs a day. I think it's fine to sleep that much, my friends DD is roughly the same and sleeps the same too.

If I wake him from a nap he is super grumpy, so I let him wake naturally, sometimes his nap is shorter, today it was 1hr 45, but we were drilling and sanding downstairs so could have woken him up.

Yep

11-12 hours at night and 2-4 hour nap depending on how active we have been

I think a well rested child is happier and has more mental/physical energy

Long may it continue!!!

My middle child slept like this. 7.30-8am, then a long afternoon nap too. It was great for her and me. I felt rested and so while she napped I had energy to achieve things for myself.

Dc3 is ten months and a rubbish sleeper. I am exhausted. I love her to bits but I do reminisce about how her older sister slept. I knew I wouldn't be lucky enough to get that twice though!

Enjoy

Hey - mine almost does this and she's 2 and 1/4!! Prob 12 hours at night and a 1.5-2 hour nap.

Rally don't worry about it

Mine have always been big sleepers. At 2.4 they sleep 13 hours at night and 2 hours in the afternoon. Their bedtime was 6om until they were 16 months!

TheDetective · 17/02/2015 22:08

Yep. He's been doing 13 + hours a night for a long time now (he's 2yr 2 months) and is still doing a 3 hour nap when he's home (an hour if we are out and he's in the pram). He's flexible on this though in that we can skip the nap if needed.

I think he just enjoys the rest! He had a lot to catch up on from his first year Hmm!

My 19 month old has a three/four hour nap at lunch time and sleeps 12/13 hours a night. She seems perfectly find and healthy. I think it's okay!

Yep, and I've always been of the school that believes more sleep equals better sleep!
