Cream tea...very nice idea.

Trying not to think about little one. I seem to be missing them.

OK, so I am now gloating but this 'sending-child-off-with-hubby' lark is fantastic.

I solved my need to be productive yesterday by cleaning the house during day. Thus waking up in a lovely fresh feeling house.

Stayed up late watching a movie with the volume turned up! Ate some mediocre ice-cream (need to work in the pudding situation today).

Woke up at usual 6.30am (I can never sleep late). Read in bed, spent over an hour reading the paper, still in pj's....

BLISSED OUT!

I did have a little cry last night when DH told me DD was crying for me confused

Read.

Don't do what I did the last times this happened - panic sew until the small hours and then run a craft fair stall. Or procrastinate about sorting the house out for a day and a half, then panic tidy for the remaining half.

Sleep!

I AM SO JEALOUS!

Nothing. I would do next to FA. Get some nice food from M and S and slob about enjoying the peace like I did last weekend

Molehillmountain Thu 24-Jan-13 09:23:24

Sleep. That's all! And if I was done I would luxuriate in a tidy house and enjoy thinking about my family but not having to be responsible for them.

Now I would go and visit friends for a weekend - I fancy Edinburgh and have a few people up there I could have a night out with grin

But when I was 14weeks of with dc2, I would probably have stayed in bed all weekend eating crisps and chocolate while watching crap telly confused

So jealous!

Lots of nice food and sleep!

I would have a take-away on Friday night then get my duvet on the sofa for a rubbish film that I've already seen a million times.

On Sarurday morning I would have a lie-in and then spend ages in the bath.

Then at lunchtime I would go into town for lunch with a friend. Then meander aimlessly around the shops. Then find a nice cafe to read my book in.

Urgh, I just realised that this is someone else's weekend I'm planning and not my own. No chance of any of that with a 2yo and 11wo in tow angry envy

Seriouslysleepdeprived Wed 23-Jan-13 19:05:20

Sleep. Watch TV in bed uninterrupted, go shopping, see a film, cook. I'm so envious!!

fairylightsandtinsel Wed 23-Jan-13 16:24:12

there seems to be a common trend emerging!

Sleep. Read in bed. Nap. Read some more. Curl up on the sofa. Read.

Watch something delightfully crappy.

Have a Chinese takeaway.

Read.

Sleeeeeeep.

Not sure if you're anything like me but I get Rester's Guilt when I sit down on a day off. I sit there practically biting my fingernails off thinking, 'ooh but I'll just clean the bathroom... NO. It's a day off. Relax. Ok. ... I could just - NO! No cleaning!' so if you are anything at all like this, I would say, as soon as you are back from your lovely trip out to cinema, hair cut etc, put on your favourite comfortable clothes, grab a blanket, snuggle down on the sofa and put on a boxset. If you get any sort of 'oh but I should really be doing x' feeling then stamp down on it fast :D

zcos Wed 23-Jan-13 15:27:48

that day sounds pretty perfect already I would just add long sleep to the end!

littleredmonkey Wed 23-Jan-13 14:42:32

One word from me : jealous! !!

Notafoodbabyanymore Wed 23-Jan-13 14:10:38

Sleep, eat, watch TV/movies, sleep, eat some more, read, sleep. Jealous now...

fairylightsandtinsel Wed 23-Jan-13 14:04:30

sleep, sleep, bath, nice brek, sleep, read, stupid film possibly with Hugh Grant in it, sleep, more nice food, some SILENCE, sleep.... you get the idea. Enjoy! smile

I would sleep, read a book and eat chocolate. But I never get enough sleep so it is the ultimate luxury for me.

So my DH is taking my DD away for the weekend (Friday night to Saturday afternoon) and I'm wondering how to entertain myself.

Usually I'd think COCKTAILS but I'm 14 weeks pregnant so that's out. I'd all normally get 'my clean on' and get the house sparkling but this opportunity is too precious to waste on house work.

So far I have;
Swimming in the morning, haircut, cinema, then home for lush food and a box set.

What would you do?
