I've been meeting up with a mummy friend for 8 months since our babies were a month old. She's back to work next week and we're wanting to do something fun but not pricey in the west mids / warwickshire area.
We've lookee at the sea life centre but its quite pricey.

Any ideas?

Didn't want to read & run - assume you guys are bringing your babies too?! Sealife is pricey but it'd be worth you doing a voucher search as all the big outing days out have money off coupons (cadburys world, Warwick castle etc). It is a bit less easy to think of places when the weather is less than balmy - if warmer I would suggest botanic gardens in Brum but maybe not with snow on the ground. Swimming? You could exhaust them in the pool then seek out lovely cafe with cake and wine coffee for you guys? There is s new pool in Harborne and a lovely cafe on the high St v child friendly called Arco lounge.

Sorry not terribly original. My baby is younger than yours so entertainment less important at present!

Sealife centre is £££ but good for little ones, we first took my DS at about 8 months and he was mesmerised.

BUT the B'ham one doesn't have a cafe any more, major black marks in my book! (I think the area that used to be a cafe is now a picnic area so you can take sarnies if you want).

A frosty walk around Canon Hill Park and then lunch in the MAC?

that's a good idea Battherat - the MAC has vastly improved its food since its refit. Alternatively there is the nature centre though your babies may be a bit young to appreciate it just yet at least the reptile house is warm

You can get tickets for sealife centre for a tenner each from their website if you prebook. Can also get joint Sealife and warwick castle tickets. What about ironbridge museums? West Midlands Safari park?

Battherat - we tried the mac on Sunday after a walk around cannon hill. Thanks for suggestion it was great - and babies (plus b/feeding mums) v well catered for.

Hatton country park is lovely for young children. As is the nature centre joined on to Cannon hill with its animals. Thinktank is great too but maybe better in a year or so when babies are toddlers (excellent role play bits with garage, clinic, cafe, plus water play bit).

Safari park also good with theme park attached.
If you can go further afield, I recommend Twycross zoo. Loads of monkeys and apes .

I like Dobbies World in the north of the county, but it is FAR too cold to be outdoors. Why don't you leave the babies at home at have a nice lunch somewhere?

Alternatively, Stratford Armouries followed by the Butterfly Museum in Stratford?
