.. a while ago I read a message that had quite a mean definition of snurk .. saying that it was some kind of sarcastic comment

well to me a Snurk is that kind of snorty sound you get in the back of your throat when you are slightly surprised by the humour (yours or someone elses) and has no negative connotations ...

.. I forgot to respond at the time, but as a veteran snurker would hate people to think I was being a sarky cow (unless I was actually being a sarky cow .. which is also possible .. Wink)

to me a snurk is more of a private snort and snigger - a 'lol' is much louder and somehow more public.

like yesterday I arfed ... DS walked into this woman on the street (by accident) .. I said to him "what do you say?" .. he turned round all wide-eyed and said to lady "you were in my way" .... arf arf arf

no not really .. I kind of doubled up with that laugh that makes no noise at all for the first minute IYKWIM
