My kids are great at eating with a knife and fork usually, but at home pizza has always been finger food. At school however they are forced to eat their pizza with a knife and fork and really struggle with it as the pizza is not easy to cut. DD's shot onto the floor recently when she tried! What is this all about, do your schools insist the children eat their pizza with a knife and fork? DD so fed up with trying to cut the damn stuff, even though she loves pizza she wants to have sandwiches when pizza on the menu.

O dear. I really don't know what to suggest!
I agree, OP, that expecting anyone to eat pizza with a knife and fork is just madness. Pizza should be cut into cake-shaped slices and eaten from the centre outwards in your hands.

wOW -as my dh runs a an itlian restaurant we are very used to pizzas in this household. Made for finger food.
But uk school food is so shite I'd imagine that school pizzas are horrible and sloppy and need knives and forks. But then it's not pizza. ?Also a sloppy pizza often means it's not prepared/cooked properly so you little ones will get a sore tummy.
I think your school should relax.
my DDs school`s pizza is greasy so she eats it with a knife and fork!
she gets strange looks but its better than having greasy fingers all day.

Sloppy school pizza is better rolled up and then cut, easiest way to cope if you have to eat it.
