"oh yes, it would be lonley on it's own" Agrees MIL.

All this in front of me, who has 1 9 year old ds. I bit my tongue, but I wanted to say something.

It's just insensitive isn't it?

One x 9 year old ds NOT a 19 year old ds grin

Its insensitive. Although, if the other two are close together I do think its really hard for a third with a big gap (dh is from a family where theres two years between his brothers, 7 years then him) as the others exclude the youngest. OTOH, a friend has 3 children of 17, 11 and 5 and the even gap seems to be OK as they don't gang up and are different enough to get individual attention

What a ridiculous attitude they have! I truly don't understand it. My MIL is currently banging on about how we must have another for DD's sake. Erm, how about no? Just chuckle at it, they probably didn't even think of you.
