Please recommend a website for downloading music other than iTunes

iTunes is good for me, but DH has a non-Apple mp3 player and apparently music files bougth off iTunes isn't compatible or something confused
It would be better to buy music we can both use..

Also, must be legal, although don't mind if it's cheaper than iTunes!

Amazon is slightly cheaper and often have free tracks on it.

Another thought some time CD's are dirt cheap in some places to buy it is often worth buying it and uploading it to itunes.
