He is a real music fan, and has just got a job (unpaid, whilst he is at university) writing reviews for an online site. I was thinking that I'd like to buy him a magazine subscription for Christmas, but which one?
He used to have a subscription to NME a few years ago, but is this 'cool' enough? He is particularly into Indie music, so we're not really talking mainstream pop.
It's an area I know very little about, so any recommendations would be very gratefully received!
TIA

NME is still a good mag (Not as good as Sounds was but that was decades ago!!!!

Thanks upahill. My only worry was that NME might have become a bit too mainstream, IYSWIM!

Yeah I know, I did stop buying it for a while and just dip into it every now and again.
i'll ask around and see what's going down now.
I think most people get stuff on line though.

Uncut or Word are better quality than NME, imo. Definitely more for musos!

Now you see, I haven't heard of either of those, so they must be cool!
Thanks, Meg

I have had some good Cd's from uncut that are now on my iPod.

I still buy Kerrang from time to time much to my 15 year old DS amusement!!

Word is brilliant. He'll discover so many new bands reading it.
