Combining two of my most favourite things in the whole world. Now if Neil Finn was also on the album ...

Ordinarily I would have been first in the queue for a Kate Bush release, but after Aerial I would definitely have to listen to various album tracks before I'd buy. I thought it was tosh I'm sad to say.

I caught a song by her and Andy Fairweather Lowe on the radio the other day and that sounded good.
I think it had snow in the title but so do a couple of the songs on the forthcoming album so I don't know which one it was.

I hope its better than her one about doing the washing.

Agree with Isla - Adore KB but she's well past it.

It's out grin

Hope my mum gets it for me for Christmas...I've had a listen of "Wild Man" and I think it'll be a grower.

Past it, pfft. She is fab.

Umm....has anyone else heard it properly?

There must be lots of Kate fans on Mumsnet...where are you all?

bushymcbush Mon 26-Dec-11 18:23:09

I love Kate but I haven't heard the new album. Was also disappointed with the last one. I always seem to revert to her earlier stuff - The Kick Inside, Lionheart, etc.

So did you get 50 words for Christmas OP? Is it any good?

I've not got it yet, but would like it.
Does Elton John spoil it terribly?

I really liked the last one and I still play it a lot (I do skip the washing machine one though).

Yes, I did. My parents let me have it on for half an hour during presents....now relegated to my room.
Ha "for Christmas" grin

I'm afraid Elton does. He comes in with his "We've been in love forever"...really grating and too low, like it's been cut and pasted in there.

(Hi all, I'm newish to all this posting lark).

My thoughts echo Isla and bushymcbush (I've also had a kate inspired name before and indeed she featured highly at our wedding).
I heard Lauren Laverne play a track from it on 6music a few weeks ago and was again hugely disappointed. I still admire her loads, just not keen on her musical style post Hounds of Love. Don't mind other people loving it though............. music is soooo subjective.

Having almost identical hair to her (in a not really able to tame it kind of way) has also made me feel rather kindred spirity.... but, with respect, less of the long drawn out 'complicated' mmmm's and ooooh's more of the 'I'll send your love to zeus' 'my London Bridge in rain again'.

Oh dear, Elton John, really? really? Only got time for Yellow Brick Road (which I genuinely do like) otherwise..... get out of my house!!

i loved aerial but haven't had a chance to listen to this album much yet!

kate grows on you slowly then the albums are classics, i've found so far - though am pretty hard core fan!
