Hi, new girl here! I need urgent advice about a slow cooker recipe I found please.

Its a simple looking Lamb stew which I have most of the ingredients for but left it a bit late to search for it. The recipe states to cook on low for 8 hours but I want it cooked for about 7pm (new to this slow-cooking lark and thought there were some recipes for about 4hours) will I get away with cooking it on medium for a shorter time and if so how long should I leave it for? :-/ Please help!!!!! thanks xxxxxx
