Mumsnet

When organising a Mumsnet meet up you should take the same basic precautions you would when meeting anyone from the internet - make sure you meet in a public place and that others know where you are going. You can also meet up with other mums on your Mumsnet Local page. Find your Local page here.

Hi all - we've just moved to Suffolk from London and I am a tad lonely. I've got 2 daughters, a 3-year-old and a 9-month-old who (obviously) are delightful but not the most scintillating company.

Is anyone in the Shotley Peninsula / Ipswich area, and in need of a natter / coffee?

I wait with bated breath...

coweeeeeeeeeeee HELLO!!

and well come to Suffolk, and Mumsnet.

I work in Ipswich, and live 30 mins North of Ipswich (by car)

There are a few East Anglians on here, ShopTilIDrop is lovely, and others...I am sure they will be along shortly

Hello
We moved from London to Ipswich 2 years ago (that has flown by!) and we love it here now
I have 2 boys, one turned 4yo this week and the other is 19 months.
We have found some lovely places to go and things to do here that I could tell you about if you fancy meeting up for a coffee and a natter smile

LittleOtik Tue 13-Oct-09 11:25:33

Hooray hooray, some replies! Hello everyone.

Would love to meet - shall we start by suggesting a venue, then a date? I really don't know anywhere good to meet other than the Suffolk Food Hall, which is only really suitable if it's not raining...

Floopy21 Tue 13-Oct-09 13:28:11

Welcome to Suffolk! Born & bred here. I hope you love it as much as we do - loads to do & some wonderful skies.

OnlyWantsOneFartleBerry Tue 13-Oct-09 15:06:28

How about Jimmy's Farm, its not that bad

MrsBiscuit Tue 13-Oct-09 20:12:02

I'm a recent-ish London exile with a 20mth DD, and definitely up for a coffee and chat.
Haven't been to Suffolk Food Hall yet so if it's fairly child friendly, that's fine for me. Afternoons best generally.

LittleOtik Wed 21-Oct-09 13:52:45

Sorry - have been offline for ages, not ignoring you all... and I have probably killed my own thread, haven't I.

Just to say I am going to go to the Suffolk food hall on Monday afternoon, around 3pm, if anyone wants to join me? (Unless it's raining - as the whole point of going there is the enormous jumping pillow they've got there for the kids).

LittleOtik Thu 22-Oct-09 13:43:23

.

MitchyInge Thu 22-Oct-09 13:46:08

I'm not all that lovely but am in Suffolk - between Bury St Eds and Ipswich. Have much older children though.

MrsBiscuit Thu 22-Oct-09 19:08:47

Hello again. I won't be able to make it next Monday - DH is away all week so I'm taking DD down to grandparents for a few days.
Will be back in Suffolk the following week though....

Hi ladies, finally found a suffolk thread.
I am a mum of 3 boys of which 2 are at school and have an 8 month old .We live in a small village just north of Ipswich and love it here. Would be up for a coffee and chat as my days are generally free.

shoptilidrop Wed 11-Nov-09 14:33:47

Hi - right, come on everyone, we need to sort something out here!
Im also very bored having just lost my job, but on the other hand have plenty of time to meet up... surely we can organise something between us?

SkipToMyLou Mon 16-Nov-09 09:45:38

After 3 years I have finally stumbled on MN Local! Helloooo fellow Suffolkers! Although I'm really an Essex escapee in disguise. I'm near Sudbury and more than used to driving all over this foofing county, so will come to any meet-ups. Mitchy, you sound like me grin.

MrsBiscuit Tue 17-Nov-09 08:30:27

I think I killed off the thread last time I posted so the outlook's not good but how about the Play Barn at Hintlesham for a meet up?

SkipToMyLou Tue 17-Nov-09 15:09:16

That'll be ok if there's a few people as my kids are at school and I don't want to look like the odd one out. I've been brave and met another Mumsnetter today, I'm sure I could cope with a coven group!

shoptilidrop Tue 17-Nov-09 19:18:37

Yes, i could do that. .... when do people want to do it?

SkipToMyLou Wed 18-Nov-09 10:27:32

Any day is ok, kids are at school and study is flexible.

tracedw Thu 19-Nov-09 13:21:31

Hi, i`ve 2 at school so perhaps late morning/lunch would be good. Any day is good for me, i will keep my eye on this thread.
How about a day next week?

ceb80 Sat 23-Jan-10 21:44:17

Hi all
I'm an Ipswich Mumsnetter, are any of you still around? I'm looking for things to do on a Monday or Wednesday. Would be great to meet up. I have a 10month old DS and work part time.
