I have a five year old child with a man...he has never paid a penny to me for her..neither has he seen her since the day she was born. I stupidly told Income Support I didnt know who the father was as he never wanted anything to do with the child and told me to abort her...then claimed she wasnt his..My question is...If I now give his name so I can claim Child Support Main from him..will i get into trouble for not giving his name in the first place? Im really frightened that I will get into trouble for not saying..maybe end up being prosecuted...I dont want to risk this..as my daughter will have no where to go if i am jailed for it..please help..

I'm not an expert on benefits, although in my job I meet a lot of people on benefits.
What is child support main? Is that through the CSA / CEMIP?
I doubt very much you would be jailed, if only because as you say yourself, your five year old would have no-where to go.

You still get income support if you know who the dad is. You would be able to put his name on if you had a dna test to find out who the dad was.
It used to be years ago that the maintenance that you were paid was taken out of the income support but now you receive all your income support and maintence so i doubt it matters. Just tell them it was a rocky relationship you didnt want anything to do with him.
