Car insurance for the holidays

Quick question. Does anyone have a car back in the Uk that they insure for holidays and keep off road the rest of the time? We were gioven a car this summer ;-) and it was insured by the person who orginally owned it and I was a named driver. But how do I insure it now? Is it even possible?
