and he's given a false address.

What do I do! I'm fucked aren't I.

I've sent the V5 off to the DVLA unsigned but I feel such an idiot.

I'm going to get hammered for daily parking fines aren't I.

What do I do?

Do you need to inform the police? At least call the DVLA and tell them you've returned unsigned forms and since realised the address on them is fake, and see what they advise.

I would phone the DVLA and ask their advice and ask whether it's worth alerting the Police. Explain what your concerns are. I'm sure they've dealt with similar situations before and will be able to advise you. I would also take copies of and send them all the paperwork you need to, with a covering letter explaining the situation. Should cover your back.

You never know though...the buyer may have just forgotten Smile (or am I being really naive??)

Yes, I'll phone them in the morning.

I feel sick, I feel so stupid.

I was so careful to check the money, make sure it wasn't dodgy etc.

Angry Sad

Ring the DVA, my idiot garage put new incorrect number plates on my car. Only found out when the tax renewal arrived.
They were very helpful.

Just terrified of what happens now. Sad

The last house I lived in didnt exist on google or any other address checking thing so might not be as sinister as thought yet, ring them and should put your mind at rest.

I would worry more that the car was going to be used in a crime...why would he give a false address?

I wouldm't worry too much. I'm sure he DVLA have dealt with similar situaions. At least you've sent the form off to say you no longer own the car. They must get unsigned forms all the time, an let's face it, generally you won't be selling your car to someone you know so they must try and track the new owner.

I'm sure it'll be fine, but ring the DVLA to explain and hopefully get your mind put at ease.

Spoken to a lovely lovely man at the DVLA. he says all I'm legally obliged to do is inform them I've sold the car, which I have done and my name will be removed from log book.

GrinGrinGrin

The new owner won't be able to add his but that's for him to sort Wink

Phew

Convinced there must be a catch somewhere.
