No period following a miscarriage on 19 Dec - Fertility issues

Hi guys,

I wonder if I can some advice from you ladies please? I have been trying for a baby for nearly 4 years, suffering 2 miscarriages in between.

My last pregnancy ended in a missed miscarriage, which meant I had to have a D&C on 19th Dec. from there I bled for a week and haven't seen a period since.

I am worried that I haven't seen my period, as we want to start trying again ASAP. Has anyone else experienced such a long wait, I don't even feel like I'm gonna get a period.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can you go to the dr and get your hormone levels checked sometimes they don't go back to normal/0 quickly. Saying that after one of my mc my af went missing in action for over 3 months. It was awful I was terrified I was having an early menopause as my fertility issue was low ovarian reserve. Dr was basically useless saying anything was possible after pregnancy hormones. 6 months after they did return I got my successful bfp.
Sorry for your mmc its horrible.

Thanks for your reply, I rang the NHS line today and she basically said it could be normal for me but said it did seem abit long. I am deffo gonna pop to the docs, as the NHS direct don't think that I will be able to see the gynaecologist again, but will need a new referral from GP.

What a bloody nightmare eh, all the heart ache then followed by worry. For all the times I've prayed not to see a period, I'm now desperate for oneConfused

Have you had miscarriages before ? And do you have children?

Glad you spoke to someone a gp is usually better than nhs direct. And you really need to see a specialist. at the time mine referred me to the recurrent specialist clinic who actually just confirmed my mc were probably due to egg quality something a previous dr had told me. In the end I just had to wait it out until my period returned.

My story is I was told I would have trouble conceiving due to low egg simply- not even an option for I've as too few eggs. But we continued trying naturally whilst considering my options I had two mc 9 months or so apart clearly prooving that the people who said I could not get pregnant we're wrong. I then had one successful pregnancy so have a 6 month old with me now. From initial diagnosis to birth it took 3 years. Good luck.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I dont want to worry you but if your hormones tests all come back normal it may be worth getting checked for Ashermans Syndrome. I sadly had a termination for medical reasons and my periods never returned, 10 weeks later I was diagnosed with Ashermans. Lots of useful information at //www.ashermans.org

Hi Helen, thanks for your post and link. I'm very sorry you've been through what you have, it must be awful for you! Have you been able to receive any treatment for Ashermans syndrome?

I was very lucky that my periods came back today, so am very relieved. I myself, have had 2 mc and its heartbreaking.

I love to hear of success stories Andcake, makes me hopeful for the future.

Thank you Thanks

Fantastic news, you must be very relieved, fingers crossed it won't be long till you get a BFP.

Yes I did manage to get successful treatment, it took two operations but I got there in the end and now have a beautiful 9 month old DD. Thanks for asking.
