Well i saw my Doctor on Nov 19.. and he didn't really have to look at my blood results.. he gave me right away pills for my thyroid. he started me with 25mg for 3 month, after that i have to do in another blood test. but because it is running in the family i have to stay on the pills now for ever.. so it doesn't get out of control..
thank you Luckystarfour i have an appt with my doctor on nov 19... it actually showed on the blood test result "critical" and not normal. but still the walk in doctor said it is fine.. we have been trying for a baby for over 2 years now i know why.
i hope that once I'm on the med, i will loose the weight that i gained.
Hi hartmel Def. underactive! For pregnancy success (to avoid miscarriage) it is recommended that your reading should be under 2.0! I have been taking thyroxine for the last two years and have had monthly blood tests to ensure it is under this figure. It's really important you get the TSH and T4 level and that your doctor or Ivf consultant (if oh have one) reviews it each month. Equally the results are likely to come back saying normal range, but you need to ask for the actual results as what's normal for there is not normal for you at this period on your life. Hope this helps, dont worry - it is easy to get sorted :-)
I'm new to this site... so i didn't know under which thread i had to post my question.. so i did it here and in the other one. lol and have a question right away
Me and my husband are trying to concieve for 2 years already.. a couple weeks ago, i went to the walk in clinic (my family doctor was away on holidays) because i noticed a small lump on my throat.. my first thought was thyroid.. well he did some blood test, and the test showed that my TSH level is 4.95 it showed normal range is between 0.8-4.2... i asked him if my thyroid is ok. and all he said is everything is fine. don't worry just do another blood test in a couple month.. and he send me to see my family doctor.. well my family doctor is still not back and i''m a little bit concerned..
i have the following symptons: gained weight in the last year (i went from a size 7/8 to a size 12/14) tired, irregular menstrual, depressed, hard time falling asleep...
now my question, do think that i have thyroid underactive or overactive?
