thank god
i hate all that " ooh arent we naughty " crap
Talk about wilfully getting the wrong end of the stick. Sheesh. And if that isn't going to attract a whole new level of voyeur ...

that was always the point
the sex threads dilute the purpose of the site.
digusted of tonbridge wells.
BUT you arent allwoed to criticise them for fear of being a prude, uptight etc
its a bit like moaning about Jordan and being accused of being jealous
<hits floor with increduulity>
"One member, with the username Hassled, warned: Every weirdo pervert on the interweb will swarm towards Mumsnet like moths to a flame and get their vicarious thrills by reading our Friday night discussions. We will be like a magnet for nutters. "
ARGH!!! That was on a thread where someone asked why MNHQ had vetoed ShowOfHand's request for a sex topic, and I was explaining their concerns. It's not what I actually think at all - I think a Sex Topic would be a good thing, if only because it would be easy for me to hide it.
Bloody hell - first and last time I will be quoted in The Times and I feel misrepresented
.
And the rest of the article is lazy and dull. So there.

MN's "wholesome image?"
Must have missed the memo on that one.
Before I've even started they've amused me greatly with the picture at the top "Young couple in bed". Snappy caption or what.

Are they determined to make note of every topic we discuss then? They think we're above ourselves if we talk politics, dim witted if we talk about babies, harridans on AIBU and now we're slappers 'cos we talk about sex! Funny how they've never mentioned the Christmas Appeal, or the mnetters going to help Trin or the support for OJ.
It's all a bit tiresome now.

Personally, even without being a journalist, I know this is a non story when so much interesting stuff goes on here
I reckon in the longer term trins story will be picked up by a magazine....

i shudder to think of the threads this will trigger
this sort of article is just a side effect of being in the public eye (or courting it) innit <shrugs>
bit lame though

I predicted a while ago there would be an inevitable MN backlash. The media love building people up and then knocking them down. Hopefully the media will lose interest and move on after the election.
Not sure what is wrong with talking about male impotence by the way. It is a serious topic.

All the worrying about my Friday Night Topic attracting the wrong sort, well lack of it is attracting mediocre and misleading journalism.
Pick your potato MNHQ.

That article must have been written as a joke by an MNer, surely? Just to take the piss out of 'journalists'. I can't think of any other reason.
Strange choice of picture too - if the 'young couple' shown have just been having raunchy sex, he's clearly not very good at it....
