As long as they don't change the taste - there is no other chocolate.

FanTAStic grin

seeline i'm with you.
feel very guilty, but they better not feck with the taste regardless of who has to die and how much the planet has to suffer.

Seeline Wed 04-Mar-09 14:30:24

I'm worried - I have tried other Fairtrade chocolate in teh past and it all tasted very bitter and gritty. What will I do at Easter if Dairy Milk is no longer?

Rubyrubyruby Wed 04-Mar-09 14:32:17

You are all sooo shallow grin

PandaG Wed 04-Mar-09 14:33:26

yippee!!!!!

I love CDM, but feel guilty when I buy it as I know I should buy fairly traded - and do nearly everything else I can. I am mildly nut allergic, and sometimes react to CDM, but nearly always react to fair trade chocolate.

thanks for posting that link MP, you have made my day (that's 2 Wednesdays on the trot - last week you helped me with the burning palm crosses dilemma!)

It's OK, the taste of the other Fairtrade chocolate is because they don't put crap in it, not because it's Fairtrade. I'm sure Cadbury's intend to continue putting as much crap as before into their chocolate grin.

MammyINeedAWee Thu 05-Mar-09 16:51:30

Is a Flake the same as Dairy Milk cos I like them but not Dairy Milk!!! Mad or what.

FAQinglovely Thu 05-Mar-09 16:54:27

it's interesting to see some of these big brands slowly going over to fare trade. There was tate and lyle (sp) who went fare trade recently too.

Only one I just can't get my head around is Nescafe Fare Trade Coffee

boogiewoogie Thu 05-Mar-09 19:54:43

Brilliant news!

badgermonkey Thu 05-Mar-09 19:57:35

That is truly fantastic news - I don't really like a lot of the Fair Trade chocolate much (though happily buy bananas, coffee etc) and this way DH will happily tuck into some Fairtrade choc!

MarlaSinger Thu 05-Mar-09 20:00:09

Ooh.

I used to get Fairtrade chocolate bars from the Co-Op and they were fucking great

FAQinglovely Thu 05-Mar-09 20:01:38

Marla - my "local" shop is now a Co-op and I recently discovered their chocolate coated raisins - big bag for just under £1 - bloody marvelous - and I gorged myself on them happily in the knowledge that they were ethcal too grin

MarlaSinger Thu 05-Mar-09 20:05:40

Oh bloody hell FAQ I love chocolate covered raisins. What's more, DP hates the things so they're mine, all mine!

<Distracts FAQ and pinches a handful>

Faq - I agree, nestle with a conscience.not.

But fabulous news a bout cadbury.

The oxfam chocolate is AMAZING

FAQinglovely Thu 05-Mar-09 20:21:24

noonki - it's funny as I don't actively boycott Nestle stuff, I understand the reasons for it but it's just something I've chosen not to do. However like you say Nestle with Fair Trade stuff is just plain weird.

roisin Thu 05-Mar-09 20:50:10

It's great isn't it? Ds2 informed me of this today - they'd learned about it in assembly at school - and I was thrilled. Over dinner I told dh about it.
But apparently it was him who'd been in to school to do the assembly grin

We do talk to each other sometimes, honest!

CheeryCherry Thu 05-Mar-09 21:03:40

That's nice. It's in the spirit of the Quakers who founded the company.
