Tip of the day

Don't get in a panic over Christmas. Keep a box and put a little in it every week - small gifts, wine, nibbles, napkins etc. This way, you'll be more relaxed and less skint in December! keriku

Quote of the week

CaptainNancy's (admirably succinct) family rules: "Don't be a dingbat/duffer. Keep calm and carry on. Dream big. Shut up and get on with it."

Recipe of the week

Carmenere's cinder toffee: sweet, sticky, made-in-five-minutes toffee squares that'll spark off a few 'yums' among the 'oohs' and 'aahs' of your little fireworks-watchers.

High heels for 6 month old babies - noooooo!

(39 Posts)
god YES bewilderbeast that is IT

I was trying to think what they looked like
I don't think its anything to get worked up over

agree with kathy, they just look...odd.

But I don't think they are anywhere near as bad as those t shirts.

reminds me of miss piggy's shoes in the muppets
Well these things would be bought by the same parents who put their dd in t-shirts that state "Sexy" or worse, plastered over their 4 year old torso.
It's just wrong on so many levels.

I saw those on the news yesterday and thought they were vile. I struggle to walk in heels so why bon earth would you want to put them on a baby?
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Fri 28-Nov-08 09:38:56
It's surprising just how horrible they look actually.

But I suppose getting your baby to wear them, will be be one more way of announcing that you're a bit thick. For those who want to share that with the world, I suppose we shouldn't stop them, though sometimes it might be kinder to.

I think they're funny.
I did see a bra top for 18-24 months old in debenhams the other day, me and another lady ranted at the poor shop assistant about how wrong it wasblush and how they should be taken off the shelves.

I think they are vile, but I sort of want to buy a pair for baby dd now, just so that I can watch other people's faces arrange themselves into gasps of horror. It would be a cheap laugh, but a laugh nevertheless.
Sickening and totally wrong.
As if the world didn't have anough problems already...

Actually they remind me of shoe shaped dog toys that Ikea sell!
The heels look good to chew on

Ewww

I was offered a knock-off shiny shell suit the other day for a newborn, sadly DS2 would have been too big grin

oh nooooo they are atrocious!!!!! wrong wrong wrong!!!

the toupes are wrong too, but quite funny (i still wouldn't do it though, but at least it's not wrong in a disturbing slightly creepy way!)

Now that could get very messy smartiejake grin

Shoes are v grim by the way

Why would someone think that was a good idea ?

I would have loved to have seen the reaction on dragons den
Or Nappy thongs?
Oh FFS! Now I have seen everything. What next? A babygym with a pole dancing feature?

I can't understand why someone would want their child to wear them. But each to their own, I guess.
Sadly they are real... this isn't news though.

The telegraph reported it in june - here

I think they are funny! That baby looks so chuffed to be wearing them.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 26-Nov-08 18:13:30
WTF?? They don't even look nice, why would someone want to put those on their baby?
as for the comment re ear piercing in baby girls, I never used to see anything wrong with it, its only since I actually have a child that I think its loopy to pierce a babies ears.
hair for babies = funny
high heals for babies = wtf?!

I had my 6mth old in socks or big fluffy booties.

<sorry, but those Baby Toupees are v.v amusing!>

Oh, I recognise exactly how fun the shoes are, Mrs Taylor... hmm
LOL Funnylittlefrog.
The high heels are so weird I can't even quite feel disgusted by them.... they're just odd.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 26-Nov-08 17:07:30
Reminds me of baby toupee. But at least you could argue that the wigs are mildly amusing.
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 26-Nov-08 17:05:43
Jeez, what next? Bras and thongs?

What about some nice knee high boots? My 3 month old DD would look great with her little chubby baby legs stuffed into a pair of them grin
Add message | Report | Contact poster By Wed 26-Nov-08 17:02:29
Mrs Taylor added: "People who buy the heels are perfectly normal mums who are either interested in fashion or just recognise how fun the shoes are."

I'm a normal mum interested in fashion and I am actually a bit disgusted by these. I don't see anything fun about them at all.

Anyone remember that bizarre woman into reborn dolls - the one who washed the pram wheels - I bet she has some.

If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
