They're only six and one but it still makes me happy to know that they will have the chance to marry anyone they choose, male or female.
Excellent news - and one in the eye for the homophobic morons claiming they are not homophobic.

Hugely relieved, and by a good number too. The number of dinosaurs the Beeb have been digging out of attics to spout their bigoted nonsense, I was actually starting to worry.

That's a lovely thought. And they'll never have known any different. It will be completely ordinary to them.

Tis brilliant, but about time too!

" And they'll never have known any different. It will be completely ordinary to them."
That really does make me happy.

I'm so glad. Another step in the right direction. How can love and marriage be a good thing but only if you are straight? (Sorry but that seems totally bloody bonkers to me emoticon).
I have no idea what the sexuality of my two will end up being. I just want them to be happy, loved and loving.
I think this takes away a lot of the patriarchal crap that marriage has always implied and the being given away etc and I think a lot more straight couples will get married now too as this has changed the implication. I know it has for me
I really thought this wouldn't get through after hearing sone of the dinosaurs today. So relieved.

Complete joke that it took this long.
But for once, just once, I am so proud of the 400 who voted yes.
Especially loved the "I queue with you in the commons, I queue with you in the chambers. Wy then, when it comes to marriage, do you insist I queue in a seperate line?"
Good man.

Well let's not get too excited, it still has to go through the Lords.
