Bloody disgusting isn't it. I started a thread about dodgy sentencing and used this as an example. AFAIC alcoholism and depression aren't mitigating enough circumstances/excuses not to send her to prison.

astreetcarnamedknackered · 29/05/2012 08:32

Add to the equation that had it been a man you could bet he would have been sent down.

Bloody hell!

Ridiculous that she isn't in jail right now. The justice system in this country is a JOKE.

astreetcarnamedknackered · 29/05/2012 16:54

I despair sometimes.

I'm minded to repost this in AIBU ie AIBU to think poisoning your daughter/patient whatever the relationship was deserves prison.

go for it

this topic doesn't get a lot of traffic, and I hadn't heard about this before I happened to see your OP in Active Convos

I think the judge has more knowledge of the facts than a bunch of random people across the internet.

I am not sure that prison is the place for her, prehap Broadmoor is more appriopiate. Anyway if she does not cooperate with helping being offerred she will go to jail for 18 months.

I imagine the child is in care and the chances of the mother seeing her daughter again are slim. Prehaps that is the real punishment.

astreetcarnamedknackered · 30/05/2012 18:55

Mmm.

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 30/05/2012 19:12

I guess that depends if you have much faith in the justice system < shrug >

astreetcarnamedknackered · 30/05/2012 19:19

Or the competence of prosecuting counsel.
