Don't be suckered by this.
This sounds awfully like politically correct hogwash.
If you need proof that it is hooey, juts look at the difference between the majestic minds in the Cabinet and the shallow marshmallows in the Shadow Cabinet.
Next, they'll be telling us we only have "50 days left to save the planet".

PMSL at claig's panicked response.

Did you just slag off the DM?

'Never thought I'd see the day'
The Mail often does this. It likes to give its readers a laugh while showing up the pomposity of the self-deluded progressives.
Phew. For a minute there, I got scared...
How are you, BTW?

Fine thanks. A laugh a day keeps the doctor away and the progressives at bay.

That would make sense, in that the default non-thinking position will be slightly conservative, through lack of imagination. Then you've got people who use their brains a bit, on the left and the right. And then you've got nuts who believe the Royal Family are lizards and that Beyoncé is a whore of Satan I'm looking at nobody in particular here.
So yes, more reasonably sane and intelligent types will be left-wing. Unfortunately they are not necessarily in the majority, and they aren't running the country.

I can't believe the Daily Mail published this - is there an aggrieved editor somewhere having a really good laugh?
I loved this in the comment section:
Let's be honest, if any of us had some intelligence anywhere near half way decent, we wouldn't be reading this rag would we?
claig - you're on fire today
.
But with your "majestic minds" you've managed to conjure up a mental image of Govey, naked apart from a crown, sat on a purple velour throne. So cheers for that.

Claig can brush this off as being a bit of a laugh, but I think it could be more serious. We've already had Charles Moore of the Telegraph defecting to the left. Surely this is the final nail in the coffin for right-wing ideology.
Except of course there will always be plenty of not-very-bright, rather fearful people about to carry on the good work
That's a fascinating piece in the Guardian. Labour need to get their bloody act together and they need to do it pronto.

'Except of course there will always be plenty of not-very-bright, rather fearful people about to carry on the good work'
yes, unfortunately there are still lots of well-meaning people who have been frightened by the tales of apocalyptic doom and climate catastrophe, peddled by some plutocrats and progressives
"A laugh a day keeps the doctor away and the progressives at bay."
Well, I guess the NHS should be paying you for your services, shouldn't they?
I know the Mail is well known for their PC-right-on-lefty attitude
but I'm not sure you can define 'progressives' objectively seeing as it's anyone beyond a neanderthal from where you stand.

The panto season is over, the election was won, there's no more room for the Lone Ranger and Tonto.
