Hi am thinking of taking my 4 year old for the week just wondering if anyone has been? Is going?

I'll be there, we've never missed one since we started home educating 11 years ago. My youngest dd will have a spot on the main music stage during the week, and my grandson is coming with us-he first came as an 18 month old and loves it.

Do you have to have actual school-aged children to go?

My friend's HE-ed children have a saying: School isn't compulsory - HESFES is compulsory! It clashes with Larmertree unfortunately.

Scout19075 Lots of my friends start going to HesFes with their children when their children were toddlers.
It's a good way of meeting a wider HE crowd from the beginning. There is always a Toddler play area, and it is very child focussed.

On a similar note, has anyone been to Peak Camp? We can't afford HESFES this year but are looking at going to Peak Camp instead.

Yes Nixea We'll be at Peak Camp as well!

I love it as much as HesFes....for all the opposite reasons! It's very informally organised (not that HesFes would ever be called formal!) with no workshops organised, and what I call very old fashioned sorts of games organised by the children themselves usually.
Do you have all of the details and prices? You don't have to go for the whole time and pay for only the nights you are there. The facilities are basic but always clean. It's in the most beautiful setting too.

Yea beckyboo232 -see you there-you'll probably find me in the marquee where the parents workshops are held, most days!
