Hammock recommendation

I'm looking for a hammock which although I want to take on holiday this summer I may also subsequently use in the garden. I'm a bit confused about ones with spreader bars and those without. Am I right in thinking that those without are better?

You need one of those woven Mexican things. Much more comfy.
