Lino idea for keeping warm

Have just read this in a Polish novel. People used to cover their sofas with lino, because the warmth of bodies spreads through the lino and warms the whole thing up. Just can't imagine any lino that would look good draped over a sofa. Is that sort of lino sold any more?
