Ive started a thread on the tripp trapp for a 16 month old but I just cant bring myself to click the "buy" button everytime I look at it! LOL! Its the cost of them. Been doing a bit of research and the Obaby Megan one is supposed to be just as good. Does anyone have one or know anything about them? They are at least £85 cheaper!

Have you looked at a Svan high chair?
It's also wooden, quite stylish and has the added bonus of a optional tray. So if you like, you can have your baby right at the table OR with their own little table/tray to make a mess on .

I recently purchased a Megan Obaby high chair. The chair was correctly assembled and has been used for a couple of months. However, while my 8 month old daughter was sitting in the chair having her dinner, the seat collapsed. Her hand got trapped when this happened and caused her great deal of upset and shock. Had I not been sitting next to her and able to immediately grab hold of her she would have fallen straight onto a wooden floor, potentially causing greater injury than a bruised hand - something I dare not think about! The seat was not loose or wobbly and my daughter was doing nothing other than sitting in the chair.

The seat of the chair came fitted with black rubber pieces stuck to the edge which I was confused about at the time of assembly, especially as the foot board did not have these pieces. When assembling, I dutifully made sure that these black rubber pieces were in the centre of grooves to ensure the seat stayed in place; however, on looking at the seat after the incident it is clear that one of the rubber pieces has slipped and ripped in the couple of months use that it has had and that is why the seat fell out. It has become apparent that the only reason that the black rubber pieces were there in the first place was to bodge an ill fitting component into place. The black rubber pieces are an attempt by the manufacturer to turn something wrongly made into a saleable item, but in them doing so, it has resulted in putting a dangerous items into circulation.

Avoid this high chair, it is dangerous and could seriously hurt a child.
