Painting a Tripp Trapp - anyone done it?

Hiya- I have a great secomd hand Tripp Trapp (red) that my son adores- so much so that we've just bought another for next baby.

I wondered if anyone has repainted theirs? Sand down/repainted- and if so what type of paint did you use?
Want to simply redo the same colour, but as well used by first owner, and again by us, it could do with a touch-up.
