strong abdominal pulse/twitching muscle

Just wondering if anyone else has this?

Yesterday after playing footie with my son I was breathless and lay on the bed and noticed a really strong pulsation in my stomach, just above my navel, slightly to the left. I then had a sneezing fit and the same kind of area starting twitching. I have an overactive thyroid and am having regular palpitations, fast pulse etc so I told myself it was just that. However while in the bath I checked again (after relaxing) and could still feel the pulse and definitely localise it to just above my navel. (Also noticed I have a huge gap in my abdominal muscles - really wide at my navel! - I do have 3 children).

Anyway, I just googled (stupid stupid me!) and all the symptoms point to abdominal aortic aneurysm although this sounds ridiculous as I don't have any of the risk factors apart from having slightly high BP (no meds, just monitored).

Just need a bit of reassurance really! Wondering if it could just be the overactive thyroid and palpitations making everything a bit strong or maybe the pulse is more palpable due to me having a huge gap in my stomach muscles?

The other thing I have been having is a ripping/tearing sensation when I 'open my chest', like a burning in the bottom of my breast near the ribs.

Anyone got any ideas please? I am going to the docs on Thursday anyway.

Just to reassure you a bit. My abdominal muscles were shot to bits after ds's 1 &2 - both c-secs. I had a 3 finger width gap and could feel and see the pulse in my tummy which is coming from that huge artery - (think you said aorta). GP and physio agreed it was nothing to worry about and some physio work has mostly sorted it out. Def good idea to get it checked out by Dr - think you've been quite laid back by waiting til Thurs so you're obviously not panicking too much.
