What a sexy name ! Anyone had this? I bleive that I do and it is now causing continuous pain. Have you had surgery or did you repsond to conservative stuff.

had a mortons neuroma removed from right foot. God it gave me so much grief!

How did the removal go? Was it a local and did you have to avoid weight-bearing?

it was really painful as they go in through the sole of your foot. Was off work for 4-5 weeks as i was not allowed to walk on it for ages.
Had alot of bunion work done too,as that is what caused it.

which toes are affecting you?

changed all my shoes to orthapedic and walked around less and this has made it subside a lot. although i still get told thet perhaps i need the operation as my feet have not recovered completely.

4-5 weeks of work? i am a teacher and work in a concrete jungle, every floor surface is concrete with sometimes a thin layer of carpet. no wonder my feet are sore.

The fourth toe of the left foot is the main problem. I walk a lot and I need better shoes. I can feel ev ery little stone and bump when I walk. It's now at the point of being continuously painful but I can't be off my feet for weeks!

get some thick silicone innersoles. My orthopaedic department gave me two pairs,they are fantastic.
The other thing i did was to buy a pair of quite thick inner soles and then i cut a hole in them exactly where i had the problem in the metatarsal heads.(mine was between big toe and 2nd one That took the pressure off the two bones which rubbed together and gave me my mortons neuroma. If you try that,you might avoid getting a neuroma which is even more painful. It feels like electric shocks are going across your foot every time you put it down.

Mine all stemmed from a consultant cocking up my bunion removal and setting the bones out of line. I have had to go through 3 lots of surgery to try and correct everything...and now i have2 plates and a screw in my 2 nd metatarsal.
They had to shorten the bone in my 2nd toe to relieve the pressure on the metatarsal joint. Like you, i was in constant pain and i absolutely love sport.

Wish i had never had my bunion done.

is it a shooting pain that you have and is it between the toes or on the ends of the bones?

It is a bruised feeling shooting down the side of the fourth toe when bearing weight on it. Really getting me down. Having read you story - really don't feel like letting surgeons near my feet.

you dont want to hear what happened as a result.... they took a piece of bone from my lower leg bone to try and sort out the foot and then a week after having that done i was walking in my Aircast boot at home and guess what. My leg broke where they had taken the v-shaped piece of bone from.

I was in agony. He had cut the v-shape piece of bone to within a hairs breadth of the width of my bone and then my weight just snapped it!!!!!!!!! i heard it break. I was in agony for 9 days as the surgeon was going on holiday that day and couldnt operate.

So i had a broken leg for 9 days and then when he came home, he had to put a 3 inch plate in my leg which is still there. Dont have the op if you can avoid it!!!!!

try the silicone soles first otr get them to put a steroid injection in the painful area.That is really effective...have had 2 in my foot and they really work well.

you need to get really suportive shoes. something with a 2inch sole that does not bend in the toe area but is gently curved underneath will help a lot. if its in the early stages you can reverse the problem. chuck out any shoes with thin soles.
