Is anyone a member of a dental health plan?

mine is with denplan - £12.95 per month covers only check ups, scale polish etc that sort of thing treatment is charged separately unfortunately.
My dentist was NHS but now only treats patients on a private basis.

I'm a member of one through work. It works out at about £70 p/a, and in my case it's really worthwhile - but to be honest, I think it depends on your teeth. My teeth are endlessly dreadful and I'm forever needing work done (loads of root canals etc) - recently I had a crown done as well.

It also depends on whether you have an NHS or private dentist; I used to go private, and although the dental plan paid out, it was nowhere near the actual cost of the bill. However, in the last couple of years I've managed to get registered with an NHS dentist, and my dental scheme covers almost everything (it just paid 100 percent of my crown).
I can join one in my new job (Barbican Dental plan) but just wondered if people in general found these plans to be worth the money and if generally everything did turn out to be included or if you found yourself with unexpected bills?

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
